Maintenance of Lotus Plants:
- After receiving, first cut off the root part diagonally, remove the flower bud coverings, and then perform the deep water flower activation process. After five hours, when the flowers are about to dry out, try to immerse the stems in water and spray water on the flower heads several times. If the dehydration is severe, you can leave the flowers to wake upfor half a day.
- Lotus flowers do not open by themselves. They need to be manually folded or the petals need to be peeled off one by one. The process requires gentle handling. It’s normal to lose a few petals during the peeling process. Just let them fall . After peeling the petals, take them out and use them for flower arrangement.
- After arranging, place it in the vase. Don’t overcrowd it; keep it in a well-organized manner.
- You can water the flowers by spraying. Spray them several times a day. And avoid direct sunlight!
- After some of the petals have withered, you can continue to open the remaining petals until the flower completely withers. The flowering period is very short – about three to five days. Lotus flowers are truly beautiful. It’s very exciting to get a close look at them, especially in summer when one feels extremely relaxed and happy.
- Care for lotus: After receiving, trim the long branches and keep about 40 centimeters for insertion into the vase. Fill the vase with water (the water depth should be 40 centimeters, with the flower stem submerged in the water).
- The blooming period of lotus flowers lasts for 4 to 6 days. When shipping, we send lotus flower buds. They are harvested relatively fresh and usually do not bloom on their own. Sometimes they are artificially made to bloom. Most of them are used for making folded flowers (you can search for many folding lotus flower tutorials online). Additionally, they can be naturally air-dried to make dried flowers or dried lotus pods, which are more durable and easier to preserve.
- During the lotus season, the weather is very hot. Those who buy flowers must pay attention: All flowers must be kept away from the air conditioning vents. The dryness in an air-conditioned room will accelerate the loss of water from the flowers, causing them to dry out and droop. You can spray some water on the petals. Also, remember that flowers must never be exposed to the sun! When growing flowers in summer, you can add CoolFresh to the water, which can extend the flowering period!!!
